“All scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error, for guiding people’s lives and teaching them to be upright. This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes fully equipped and ready for any good work.” (Timothy 2:16-17)

For any one who has opened up the Bible knows that it is a hard book to understand. It has difficult passages, unfamiliar writing styles and is quite a large volume of information. For some this has been very discouraging. We at St. Philip The Apostle hope to change this with the scripture study course.

The scripture study course is entitled "A Catholic Guide To The Bible." It is a relatively easy course, one that is free of charge, self paced, and can be completed individually, with another person or in groups. Upon successful completion, each individual receives a certificate of completion.

This course comes with two books: A Catholic guide to the Bible and a work book. The Catholic guide covers the old and new testaments and educates readers on the languages of the Bible, literary forms, history and theology. The work book consists of multiple choice and true/false questions that help you to develop a clear understanding of the Bible in an enjoyable and challenging way.

For those that decide to take this course, we would like to encourage you to combine your studies with prayer in your quest to further understand the Bible. May every study session be accompanied by a prayer to the Holy Spirit for guidance and understanding!
